  • This is by far one of my favourite pieces of gear. Wait, really? A plate?

    Yes. This simple plate solved one of my biggest rigging issues: bridging Arca-Swiss, Manfrotto 501 tripod workflows, DJI gimbals, and Peak Design-compatible plates without constantly rebuilding the setup.

    I have two of them. One always stays in my bag, with the rail removed from the reverse side. The other lives on my DJI RS5 gimbal. It is not an exciting accessory on paper, but it quietly makes the whole rig ecosystem work better together.

    The Good:

    • Compatible with most Arca-Swiss plates and Peak Design plates.

    • Compatible with the Manfrotto 501 standard.

    • Still keeps the DJI threads at the front of the plate for gimbal accessories.

    • Affordable problem-solver.

    • Makes switching between tripod, gimbal, and Arca-style workflows much easier.

    The Bad:

    • None for me.

    • May need adaptation or testing with other gimbal brands.

    • Get it if you want an affordable way to use your current Arca-Swiss or Peak Design-style plates with both DJI gimbals and Manfrotto 501 setups.

    • Get it if you are tired of swapping plates every time you move between tripod and gimbal work.

    • Pass if you use another gimbal brand and are not sure about compatibility; I have not tested that myself.
