  • The Peak Design Slide is the workhorse strap for heavier camera kits. There are plenty of similar straps today, but when I got mine over ten years ago, it felt like the first design of its kind, especially with Peak Design’s excellent Anchor system. It is more comfortable than thinner straps on long days, and the Anchor system makes it easy to remove when switching to tripod, gimbal, or bag carry. It is also great for adding stability as a third anchor point — your body — when shooting handheld.

    The Good:

    • Comfortable with heavier gear.

    • Very adjustable.

    • Quick Anchor attachment and removal.

    • Works as a sling, shoulder, or neck strap.

    • Great all-around camera strap.

    • Available in multiple colours.

    The Bad:

    • Can feel large in a small bag (Width of the strap).

    • Get it if you carry full-frame or heavier setups with bigger telephotos.

    • Get it if you want one strong all-purpose strap.

    • Get it if you are willing to buy into the Peak Design ecosystem.

    • Pass if you only use compact cameras.

    • Pass if you prefer minimal straps.
