The Peak Design Leash is the lighter, simpler strap in the Peak Design lineup. It is great for compact kits and cameras that do not need the extra width and padding of a heavier strap.

That being said, I have used it for years with heavier setups too, including my Canon R5C paired with the EF 100-400mm. It still feels strong and secure, but it is definitely not as comfortable with that kind of weight. The strap can handle it; your shoulder may disagree after a while.

What I like most is the Peak Design ecosystem. The Anchor system means I can move the Leash between different cameras, or even use it with my DJI RC2 controller, without committing one strap to one setup. It also packs down well and does not become a tangled mess in the bag.

The Good:

• Lightweight and compact.

• Quick Peak Design Anchor attachment.

• Adjustable for neck, shoulder, or cross-body carry.

• Great for smaller cameras, but still usable with bigger setups.

• Easy to pack as a spare strap.

• Works across multiple cameras and accessories in the Peak Design ecosystem.

• Available in different colours.

The Bad:

• Less comfortable with heavy cameras and long lenses.

• Narrower strap can dig in over long days.

• Not the best choice if you want maximum padding or support.

• Get it if you carry compact cameras, film bodies, or lightweight mirrorless kits.

• Get it if you want a small strap that is easy to move between cameras.

• Get it if you already use Peak Design Anchors.

• Pass if your main camera/lens combo is heavy.

• Pass if you want maximum shoulder comfort for long days.

• Pass if you prefer a wider, more padded strap like the Peak Design Slide.
