A River Runs Through It follows the Canadian Rockies through changing seasons, shifting weather, and the quiet rhythm of mountain roads. What began as a promise to return each autumn became a broader way of looking beyond the familiar icons of Banff, toward the wider landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia.
Living in Calgary in 2020 gave me time to explore the Rockies more slowly, from Jasper to Waterton and the valleys in between. The collection reflects that search for distance and stillness: rivers cutting through mountain country, forests changing with the season, peaks disappearing into weather, and roads leading deeper into weather, and roads leading deeper into a landscape that always feels larger than the moment.
