I was skeptical when I first bought this Angelbird CFexpress Type B card back in 2022. At the time, it offered a good capacity and great speed for a much lower price than most of the competition, which made me wonder if there was a catch.
It turned out Angelbird makes excellent memory cards and storage products for filmmakers. I have never had dropped frames or speed issues with this card, even though the SE line sits more in the mid-range of Angelbird’s CFexpress lineup.
What matters with these cards is not only the maximum speed printed on the box, but the sustained write speed and real-world compatibility with the camera. For my Canon R5C, this card has been reliable enough for the recording modes I use, and that matters more to me than chasing the fastest card on paper.
The Good:
Fast CFexpress Type B format.
512GB capacity is practical for video days.
800 MB/s sustained write speed on this version.
Stable Stream technology is aimed at consistent recording performance.
Better suited to demanding cameras than SD cards.
Angelbird has a strong reputation for professional media.

Speeds depends on capacity on the recents models.
